Frequently asked questions
The questions patients actually ask us — answered the way we'd answer a friend.
Before your visit
I haven't seen a dentist in years. Will I get a lecture?
No. Roughly a third of our new patients say exactly this at their first visit. We start from where you are, not where you “should” be — you’ll get a clear picture of your current dental health and a plan split into “now”, “soon” and “can wait”. No judgment, no guilt trip.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Just an ID and, if you have them: your insurance details, a list of medications you take, and any recent X-rays from another clinic (we can also request these for you). If you’re coming for a specific problem, photos of when it looked/felt worse can genuinely help.
I'm genuinely afraid of dentists. How do you handle that?
Tell us when you book — we’ll schedule extra time so nothing is rushed. Every step is explained before it happens, you can ask us to stop at any moment by raising your hand, and the first visit can be just a conversation in a normal chair if that’s what you need. Anxious patients are our specialty, not an inconvenience.
Procedures & pain
Will the treatment hurt?
Modern local anesthesia means treatment itself shouldn’t hurt — you’ll feel pressure and vibration, not pain. We numb the gum before the injection, warn you before every sensation, and check in as we go. If anything does hurt, raise your hand and we stop immediately and re-anesthetize.
Is a root canal as bad as everyone says?
Its reputation is decades out of date. With modern anesthesia and rotary instruments, a root canal today feels similar to getting a large filling — the visit is longer, not more painful. In fact most root canal patients arrive in pain and leave out of it. Expect mild soreness for a day or two afterwards, manageable with ordinary painkillers.
How long is recovery after an extraction or implant?
Most people are back at work the next day for both. After an extraction: 2–3 days of mild soreness, a week of chewing on the other side. After implant placement: similar soreness, with the implant then healing quietly under the gum for 2–4 months before the crown goes on. We give you written aftercare instructions and a direct number to call with any concerns.
Pricing & payment
How much will my treatment cost?
After your first checkup you receive a written treatment plan with fixed prices — before anything begins, and the bill at the desk matches it. Indicative prices for every service are published on this website, so there are no surprises at any stage. A standard checkup is €40.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes — for treatment plans over €300 we offer interest-free installments over 3–6 months, and longer financing for implant and orthodontic work through our partner bank. Larger plans can also be staged: we sequence treatment so urgent work happens first and costs spread naturally over months.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, all major debit and credit cards, and bank transfer. You receive an itemized invoice after every visit — useful for insurance reimbursement and employer health benefits.
Insurance
Do you work with my insurance?
We work with all major Bulgarian and international insurers. Bring your policy details (or just the card) to your first visit and we’ll confirm your coverage on the spot, before any treatment is planned.
Do I have to handle the insurance paperwork myself?
No — we prepare and submit claim documentation for you, including the itemized invoices and treatment codes insurers require. For direct-billing partners you pay only your co-payment at the desk; for reimbursement policies we give you a complete claim pack to forward.
What if a treatment isn't covered by my policy?
You’ll know before we start — the written treatment plan marks which items your insurance covers and which it doesn’t, with the exact out-of-pocket amount. Where a covered alternative exists (for example a different crown material), we’ll present both options and the trade-offs honestly.
